The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC), Akron Battalion, is currently accepting applicants for enrollment.  Full-time students between the ages of 10 and 17, who maintain at least a 2.0 GPA, who can pass a basic physical exam, who are single, and who are free of felony convictions, are encouraged to explore the USNSCC program and its tremendous opportunities.

The U.S. Naval Sea Cadets is a nation wide military youth organization commissioned by Congress and sponsored by the Navy League of the U.S.  Its mission is to teach youth about the seagoing services — the Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, and Merchant Marines — and the core competencies to be successful in charting their course in whatever futures they desire.

The Akron Battalion drills one weekend per month at the Naval Operations Support Center (NOSC) located at 5986 West Airport Drive, Green, OH 44720.

USNSCC cadets have abundant opportunities to explore interests for their futures.  They have the privilege of wearing U.S. Navy uniforms, participate in the same trainings as their U.S. Navy counterparts, and are highly successful as recipients of college/university scholarship awards and Academy appointments.

It’s the perfect time to check us out and see if we’re what you’ve been missing – fun, adventure, camaraderie, and a sense of pride and belonging.  Interested youth (and their parents) are encouraged to fill out the contact request formso that an instructor can coordinate a site visit with you.
